We are so excited to see your kids this school year and help them learn, grow, and have fun! It is our goal to help each child grow spiritually, emotionally, and intellectually. We look forward to working together as a team to create a positive experience for your child.
All parents and your preschooler are asked to attend our orientation night to drop off paperwork, meet your teacher, tour your classroom, and get any questions you may have answered.
Please complete and bring the following paperwork to orientation night.
Please print and fill out the following paperwork and bring to preschool orientation night:
Be a part of your children's learning!
We know how important it is to stay up to date on your child’s learning journey, which is why we’re excited to offer you access to Procare Solutions’ best-in-class parent app. The Hastings Family YMCA child care programs will be using Procare to communicate with you on a daily basis, check in/out your child, and handle all billing invoices.
Procare allows us to send you photos and videos of fun and special moments your children have when they are with us, view upcoming events and activities, and follow along with any snacks, naps, and activities your children take part in. The next best thing to being there with them!
How do I get the app?
When you sign up for a child care program, you will get an email soon with all the instructions including a unique 4-digit pin and information to download the mobile app via email. For additional security, you will be notified via email when your child is signed in and out of the center.
Supplies your preschooler will need:
We ask that you please help us provide classroom supplies. These supplies will be shared amongst all the children so please do not put names on them.
If your child is in extended care:
Parents will be asked to sign their children in and out every day. For your child’s safety, only those people designated in writing will be able to sign your child out. In an emergency, verbal authorization may be granted to someone else but the parent must contact the Director or Program Coordinators to arrange this. Anyone not on the list for picking up a child or that the childcare staff does not recognize will need to show ID. Your child will not be released to an unauthorized person.
No child will be allowed to be dropped off prior to the starting time of their preschool class unless they are paying for the pre-care service. This time is important for the teacher in preparing for the upcoming preschool day. The time directly after each preschool class is important for clean up and planning of upcoming lessons. All parents need to be prompt in picking up their child at the scheduled class ending time.
Dear Parents,
In our Preschool programming at the YMCA we ask that your child is fully potty trained prior to attending. We understand that sometimes children still have accidents, but we encourage them to be fully potty trained. There are bathrooms in the room that the children can use. We don’t have enough staff for someone to constantly be cleaning up accidents. If your child has an accident it is okay, but if it becomes a pattern then we would need to have a conversation about attendance or what we can do to help you and your child/children. We ask that you provide in their back pack always an extra set of clothes just in case this were to happen.
If they are close but need a reminder every now and then to go, please communicate with your child’s teacher so we can help support you as a parent, and also help your child learn.
If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher or to the Child Care Director for more clarification.
Thank You,
Christine Bischoff

LEAD TEACHER
I love being a preschool teacher because I have the opportunity to build positive relationships with my students and their families while knowing that I make a difference in their lives, I am free to teach Bible lessons and say the Pledge of Allegiance, and my day is NEVER boring! I also have the privilege of working with a great team of early childhood educators. Knowing that I am a part of a family/community driven organization that is fully supportive of furthering the education of both students and staff, makes it easy to come to work each day with a smile on my face and joy in my heart!
LEAD TEACHER
I enjoy teaching because of the relationships I get to build with each child and their families, as well as having the opportunity to help and watch my students grow as learners and individuals.
I enjoy working at the YMCA because it allows me to be apart of a community that encourages the developement of youth.
LEAD TEACHER
I love teaching preschool because the kids bring such joy into each and every day. They are so excited to come to school. It is a privilege to watch them grow and learn. I love teaching at the Y because of the families I've met and gotten to know, and because of the dedication to the children in our community. I was lucky enough to have many wonderful teachers throughout my education that I am now dedicated to giving my preschoolers a loving classroom environment. My hope is that they love preschool and just can't wait to come back every day!
