Hastings YMCA names new CEO

Hastings Family YMCA Names Ty LeBar as New CEO; Troy Stickels to Transition to Development Director

HASTINGS, NE — The Hastings Family YMCA Board of Directors is proud to announce the appointment of Ty LeBar as the organization’s new Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2026. LeBar, a veteran leader within the YMCA, will succeed Troy Stickels, who is transitioning into a strategic fundraising role for the organization.

A Homegrown Leader

Ty LeBar’s journey with the Hastings Family YMCA is a testament to his dedication and deep-rooted understanding of the mission. Over nearly 11 years, LeBar has risen through the ranks, beginning his career as an intern before serving as Sports Director. Most recently, he has served as the Associate Executive Director, where he played a pivotal role in daily operations and program development.

“On behalf of our Board of Directors, I am thrilled to welcome Ty LeBar as the next CEO of the Hastings Family YMCA,” said Mark Canada, Board President. “Ty has demonstrated a deep commitment to our institution and the community we serve. We are confident that his experience, vision, and dedication will guide our organization into an exciting new chapter of growth and impact in our community.”

Leadership Transition and Continued Growth

As LeBar assumes the CEO role, current leader Troy Stickels will remain a vital part of the YMCA’s executive team. Stickels will transition to the role of Development Director, where he will leverage his extensive experience to focus on growing the YMCA’s annual support campaign, expanding the endowment fund, and overseeing special projects and capital initiatives.

“We extend our deepest gratitude to Troy Stickels for his exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication,” added Canada. “His tenure has been marked by meaningful progress, strengthened community partnerships, and a lasting positive influence on the lives we serve. We thank Troy for his incredible contributions and wish him continued success in this new capacity.”
