TIM LAVINGTON – Spring Triathlon

YMCA SPRING TRIATHLON – TIM LAVINGTON

The Hastings Family YMCA is excited to once again hold our annual Spring Triathlon! Each year participants compete individually or as a relay team to complete 3.1 miles of running, 12.2 miles of biking, and 400 yards of swimming.

Tim Lavington is a regular to the YMCA’s Spring Triathlon and has been participating for 5 years now! “This has always been my favorite race. The personal touch that the YMCA, volunteers, and the race director put into this race makes it so interesting and enjoyable. I get to see a lot of people year after year and everyone is so friendly. It’s the perfect race for anyone!”, Tim shared.

After having the triathlon postponed last May due to COVID, the YMCA hosted an in-person socially distant race along with a virtual race option in July of 2020. Participants are eager to get back out there and have fun again this year!

“This race is well organized and FUN for all ages and levels of triathlete. The course is interesting and volunteers are everywhere so it is easy to follow. The pool swim is much easier for beginner triathletes to handle than the mass start in a lake that other tris have, but yet even for fast swimmers and veteran triathletes it is super fun because it’s something different!

This triathlon is also super affordable for anyone! It’s a win-win because it’s affordable and it’s the most fun! Post-race is always the best as people hang out and get to watch everyone else finish and cheer each other on. I look forward to this race and the beginning of the tri season every year!” – Tim Lavington
