CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

The Hastings Family YMCA is closed until further notice but our child care services will still remain open. Please view the video update below from our CEO, Troy Stickels (updated 4/1/20)

CHILD CARE WILL REMAIN OPEN

If you would like to use the YMCA’s child care please call 402-463-3139 for a spot.

  • Available care: 7:00 am – 6:00 pm
  • Cost: $26/day.
  • Ages: 3 – 12 years old
  • 2 snacks and lunch served to all children.

We are taking every recommendation by the CDC and more to keep kids safe:

  • We are grouping kids in spaces of no more than 10 (staff included in that number)
  • Parents and children will be entering the facility through a separate entrance
  • Children will be signed in and temperature taken at the door. If a child has a temperature of 100.1 or higher they will be sent home.
  • When children are checked in their coats are sent home with their parents and their shoes left in the hallway.
  • No outside coats or bags will be allowed in. (Lunches are acceptable.)

Dear YMCA Members, 

These are uncertain times that we face in our community and in our country. In light of the increased impact of the coronavirus, closure of schools and the need to provide services to those in need in our community, we must all make difficult decisions. How best can our YMCA serve the community and support efforts to keep our community healthy and safe?

For over 139 years, we have always been an organization that walked in the direction of a challenge. This situation is a challenge. Unfortunately with the recent discovery of the coronavirus in our community we are forced to close both facilities until further notice. We will re-evaluate in two weeks. 

We will continue to provide childcare services to our community. Please see our website for details. We feel this is very important for our community to continue this service. Our 18th street location will be used strictly for childcare. We are able to practice social distancing due to our large space. We are taking extreme measures to ensure the safety of our youth. 

Your membership to the YMCA does grant you access to amazing facilities, but it also allows us to do amazing work in the community. With this income we are able to continue providing childcare for the community, offer support to our seniors during this time of isolation, assist community members with finding childcare and so on. We are asking you to stay with us at this time, not necessarily as a facility user, but as a cause driven member, so we can respond to the needs of our community. We ask that you retain your membership. We know not all of you will be able to do that, but if you can it will greatly help us continue our services.
